Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) launched BURMA VOICES CAMPAIGN

Burma crisis is international crisis as everyone is bond in humanity. In order to restore justice in Burma, we value everyone's participation and welcome anyone to work to help free Burma. We are doing the media campaign as part of our strategy and we are compiling videos clips (1-3 minutes each) from Burma’s supporters from around the world.

“We would love to have video clips or recorded audios speaking in English or in other languages. But if you use other languages, please provide us with English translated script so as to publish in our web. Basically, expressing your views”, said Myo Thein, Director at the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC).

These messages will be vitamins for Burmese people and will also send the message to United Nations that they must take practical action to solve Burma crisis and so do governments around the world. You can join Burma Voices at

Venerable Sayadaw U Uttara is the prominent Buddhist Monk Leader. He calls for the world citizens and world leaders to work harder to realize the mandates given by Aung San Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD) which won the 1990 election overwhelmingly.

U Uttara said, “I would like to urge everyone to implement the four main principles demanded by Aung San Suu Kyi and NLD”. U Uttara highlighted the importance of four main principles demanded by Aung San Suu Kyi and National League for Democracy (NLD), on February 2, 2009, when they met with the visiting UN envoy,

* to put more pressure on the military regime to release all political prisoners including Aung San Suu Kyi immediately and unconditionally

* to review on the constitution which is designed to legitimize military rule in Burma and adopted unilaterally in 2008

* to recognize the 1990 election result in which Aung San Suu Kyi's party won landslide victory

* to allow to convene the people's parliament based on 1990 election result

They are the mandates given by our leaders and it is our duty to realize them, he added.

Because we already have free and fair election in 1990 and Aung San Suu Kyi and NLD party won the election and also ethnics political party, they won political seats in their region. We just need to implement the result of the 1990 election. I strongly believe that we don't need one any election in 2010, just as Aung San Suu Kyi stated we just have have to implement or exercise the result of the 1990 election."
