MPs

Write to your constituency MP and ask him or her where he or she stands on the issue of Burma. Organise other people in the constituency to write and try to get between five and 10, this way he or she will be more inclined to take up the matter with the Foreign Office. Please send us a copy of any replies you receive.

Trade Unions

Write to local and national trade union leaders and ask them what their position is on Burma. Let us know what you learn.

Write or call to Burma Democratic Concern

Write to us or call us if you would like a speaker on Burma. Burma Democratic Concern can help to find speakers and videos. We will provide up-to-date case histories.We can help with any information needs concerning Burma issue.

Church Leaders

Write to local and national church leaders, prominent members of religious groups and other human rights groups for their support in opposing human rights abuses in Burma. Offer them information for their newsletters; ask if they would like an article on Burma, and let us know if they are interested.

Local Newspapers

Write to them with news about Burma. They need stories. We can provide facts about the current situation in Burma and Burma Images has a large stock of photographs, of recent events as well as religious and cultural interest.

Form Local Networks

Gather together with other sympathisers in your area and consolidate your efforts with combined action. There are a number of active groups throughout Britain; contact us for their details. If you would be interested in starting a local group yourself, let us know, and we will send you some helpful guidelines.

Encourage Others to Join

Our organization is a membership organisation. All members receive the newsletter, up to date information and an opportunity to take an active part in supporting Burma. Encourage your friends and colleagues to join so that we can make our voices heard all over Britain, and make Burma a truly national concern.

Talk to Anyone Who Shows Interest

Explain to them what is happening in Burma - preaching is out but explaining is in. Pass on our details.

Letter Campaigns

Take part in Letter Campaigns and Sign petition letters to release all political prisoners.
